Lush are a bit of a low-key fave of mine. Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins produced several of Lush’s earlier records, including this one. It was off the album Spooky and was their first UK Top 40 single. They moved on from this dream pop/shoegaze sound to become aligned with the Britpop sound, later in the 90s. Although this stuff was still good, if I had to choose, I’d go for the earlier sound.

The autobiography that Lush’s Miki Berenyi released last year is worth a read. It includes lots of stories about Britpop shenanigans, the Lollapalooza tour and so on.
