I’m on the last book of The Witcher series (The Lady of the Lake) and omg does chapter 8 feel endless. If the series had started like this, I never would have continued. It’s all just battle with minor characters and once off characters who don’t matter.

I sincerely suspect that the chapter might only exist because the author knew the series was coming to an end and there was medieval battle terminology that he hadn’t used yet.

    I was so so tired by the end of this series. I know exactly what chapter you mean and it’s like it existed purely to destroy the last shred of my patience. Wish I’d stopped after the first two books with the short stories which I loved.
