At the center of this carving sits Lake Cumberland Marina, the largest marina on the largest man-made lake in the United States. I prefer to use locally available hardwoods, in this case, maple and thermal poplar with resin added to represent the water. No paints, stains or dyes were used on the wood. this is amazing! i’ve never done any woodwork myself, usually stick to drawing/painting and a bit of sewing, but making or carving a physical object like this has always been impressive to me. i really like the colour of the resin too :) great work!
