    Email was always supposed to be federated and accessible to everyone. It’s what the Internet was meant to be. But now, what we have is a few big companies holding the reins of the Internet in their hands.

    It’s interesting how the email space is essentially a duopoly between Google and Microsoft now. Microsoft and Google attempt to weed out spam the best they can, and impact people that run their own mail servers, all in the attempt of helping keep email inboxes free of spam.

    But if they’re failing at that now, I wonder if they really should be allowed to alienate smaller mail servers from even being able to send emails to folks who have email addresses at Google or Microsoft.
