Just upgraded from a Model 3 to a Model S and enabled FSD and I’m noticing I can’t change the FSD profile with the right scroll wheel. Up/down and clicking work fine but left and right don’t seem to do anything. Not sure if this is intended or not but the user manual indicates the behavior should be the same. Wondering if I got a defective scroll wheel or if there’s another place in the UI I can test.

You mean follow distance? Correct, for some dumb reason the Model S doesn’t have any function for the right scroll wheel left/right.

And…even after the recent update that added mapping functionality to the LEFT scroll button, it still has no function.

It’s stupid, but it isn’t defective.

edit: Curious what manual you read because mine straight up calls out that it doesn’t do anything “yet”.

      Thanks for the response

I had pulled up the built in manual on the car interface under the FSD section. I can take a picture next time I’m in the car.

So is there no way to adjust that setting (chill vs standard vs assertive) without diving into the settings menu while driving? On the 3 the left and right directions on the right wheel would toggle between those settings.

That’s where I found the info at least. Going to touch base with the service center just to make sure it’s not a bad scroll wheel. Thanks for the help I’ll update with what they say

I just upgraded as well but am having no issue adjusting that with the left and right click.

I should note that I have a model 3 though.

I did eventually get confirmation from Tesla and some other Model S users and this appears to be a Model S/X specific issue where as the 3 and Y aren’t impacted. Are the new model 3s stalkless as well?
