    Fuck that would look amazing with some townhouses all around the base and all up the trunk and a couple of real estate offices in the middle

      There was a school in aMountain Ash in Victoria. A stable too.

      They’re a bit bigger than E.grandis though. The Thorpedale tree was measured at 114m, and the first branch didn’t start until 70m!

          There used to be an amazing webpage that detailed the big trees of Victoria. Old photos, all the stories of the giants, diaries of people living in the forest etc. It disappeared about 13+ years ago, no archive, no links.

          It hurts me to this day. It was an amazing piece, built on an old school html page.

          You may be able to find the reports from the surveyor that measured the Thorpedale Tree if you’re lucky.

    There is (or was) a neat wooden toy shop and cafe a few minutes up the road from this tree. The toys are made in the in-house wood working shop. From memory the cafe does cheese and meat board along with Devonshire tea.
