Detail in the link. Crash reporting should make this a lot easier now though!
I recommend you use Obtainium to install this and other github-based projects, if you aren’t already https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium
Also, I realise the apks are getting bigger, I’ll fix that soon, there’s libraries we don’t need…
Slide feels like coming home! When it slowly died, I tried ALL available apps for Reddit. First all open source, then free apps from the playstore. Only Joey was similar to Slide and had the same unique gallery mode (it’s even better because it’s remember the position of the last post shown).
So I’m happy and excited to see Slide coming back for Lemmy. Gallery mode is currently crashing the app, but I’m sure it’ll be working soon. 😊
Can confirm gallery mode crashes app for me also. Had not heard of Joey. Will check it out.
Well I mean you’re not gonna be able to check it out now I don’t think…
Yeah I realised that after looking into it!
Hi, Firstly I would like to thank you for your work.
I tried this app but after login my account it keeps crashing. Without login it lists all posts. Here is the screen recorded video.https://streamable.com/zhds7nGot it working, i was using email in username field. Tried using username now and not its opening. Comments colapse not working as of now. Hope that works. Also after turning on community in tabs option(Setting > General > Display > View Type) set to Subreddit tabs, all posts only display Swipe navigation help screen.
If I use the ‘Go to subreddit’ search and add a community from another instance the app crashes. Feel free to add this to the GitHub issues list if I don’t get around to it soon.
Thank you for porting slide to Lemmy!
I was able to log in, view comments and vote. However, trying to view only one of my communities via the search bar crashed the app.
Still not logging in but I got an error message:
You’re the best!
Slide has been my go to Reddit client for years! So happy to see it live on in my new favorite site! Will we see an iOS version eventually?
Unfortunately no, this app is pretty extremely android specific, and i also have no iOS devices to test with even if it wasnt
