Just joined after rif went down. Are there any good videos or tutorials for people new to Lemmy and the fediverse?
minus-squareTomJoad@lemmy.tflinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoThese TWO things will vastly improve your experience… 1 - Subscribe to high-quality communities… The best way to explore communities is: https://lemmyverse.net/communities click the “house” icon (top-right), and input your home instance (aussie.zone). now explore ALL those searchable communities, and open them to Subscribe. 2 - Get a good mobile app. It solves all the federation/UI issues. are you on iOS or Android? (or primarily PC?) I will send you more info accordingly

Here are some cool communities to check out: /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] And if you want some more ‘general chat’ options: /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] /c/[email protected] Building a high-quality Subscription feed is the secret… then you can change your app’s default Sort to ‘Subscribed’ and ‘New’ (in settings), and you’ll always see content that matches your real interests (no filler).
