I started a sub that had 400k users and was around for 10 years. /r/functionalprint

After I made it read only, admins they just up and gave it to some rando mod that had no experience in that sub at all.
So it doesn’t surprise me the mods of a lot of subs have absolutely NO experience in the subs they are modding.

    Screw Reddit.

There are a ton of dangerous 3D printing happening. Especially people doing shit that’s pressurized.

That was my favorite sub, and I’m really sad it didn’t take off on lemmy. I noticed it was back up on Reddit a few weeks ago and I thought about messaging you to ask if you put it back or reddit gave it to someone else. Fuck reddit.

I was a subscriber to your sub. I didn’t see it here on Lemmy as another poster mentioned. Is it still around here? I’ll join.

It is a copy paste of the same reply I made to the post where 9to5mac.com talked about the same thing theverge.com did.

I noticed a few people comment they didn’t know subs migrated/existed. So I replied here with the same thing, and sure enough other people again didn’t know the sub migrated/existed.

People (including myself) are learning how this federating works. How the sub on kbin gets shown on other lemmy instances, and how those people in those instances can see/find the sub through their instance.

I’m still wrapping my head around some comments not showing up, and how subscriptions work.

And how the thumbnail picture and links work for some posts, and on some instances and doesn’t for others.

Yeah, all of what you said resonates with me as well. Im having trouble understanding how to find content on other federated instances, the inability to edit comments, the lack of basic understanding and the doubt that lemmy can actually take off due to the learning curve required. If only people willing to learn end up here I guess that is positive though lol

How the fuck do you pressurize a print? Do you just… Pressurize the enclosure? Surely not the hotend!

        Not during the print process.

Making a print and putting air-pressure to it.

Air fittings, paintball guns, actual guns, etc.

Unless… you know how to do it. I’ve printed pressure stuff that held from 0 to over 20 bar, it’s all in knowing your materials and slicer settings. Many people don’t know how to make a print watertight in vase mode, so… 🤷

Hey, so it was you who banned me from that sub without giving a reason? How the turns wheel… 😒

Why TF is The Verge reporting on an Ars article. I’ve already read the Ars article, so I thought this was further confirmation. Annoying…

Imagine forcing the good mods that actually wanted to keep r*ddit from turning into a shit show to leave by getting rid of their 3rd party mod tools and expecting the replacements not to ruin everything.

Are the first-party mod tools that bad? I wouldn’t be surprised seeing how bogged down the redesigned Reddit website is

If the whole subreddit about saving 3rd party clients was to be believed, the first-party mod tools were pretty much useless, especially for those who are sight impaired. Though I can’t say for sure since I was never a mod and my memory of that subreddit is a bit fuzzy.

Just like Reddits old mods put their communities at risk. Mods are the biggest problem with Reddit.
