Amazing song and an amazing show. I never liked Beavis and Butthead, so I’m really glad I gave Daria a chance when I did. It really hit in the feels sometimes too.

Yeab B&B can be a bit of an acquired taste, but I think it’s hysterical. The only thing is you need to find the ones with the music videos because that’s the whole joke: even these two morons are too smart for MTV.

I actually dislike the music video part more than the rest, because it was a blatant ripoff of Mystery Science Theater 3000 at the height of that show’s popularity, when it was winning Peabody awards. I doubt Mike Judge planned on that part. It definitely had nothing to do with the original Liquid Television short. I think MTV executives said, “we have a hit show on Comedy Central [which they owned]. Do that on MTV.”

Not to mention, that was incredibly cheap to produce in terms of an animated show. Barely any animation necessary. I’m sure the executives liked that.

But overall, the comedy just wasn’t for me. I enjoyed King of the Hill and Office Space, so it’s not Mike Judge. I just didn’t like Beavis and Butthead.

Like you said, it can be an acquired taste.

I will never stop mourning that the original show with soundtrack was lost to time and licensing costs.

The show is good enough that you don’t really notice the missing music, but the handful of bootlegs I’ve seen over the years with the original music just hits so different. Very powerful lil nostalgic cocktail.
