Because we’re talking about war here - war is the realm of governments, not individuals. When an individual wields inordinate power over the outcome of a war, or a battle within a war, they’re exercising more power than any other citizen has. When one citizen has more power and say than any other citizen, that’s a bastardisation of democracy.
Musk doesn’t wield any power other than over his own product. The Ukrainian and US governments are free to use their own products and services in their wars. If musk doesn’t let them use his product for war they’re no worse off than of his product didn’t exist.
Democracy is in no way affected. Speaking of democracy though - did the US citizens vote to fund a proxy war with Russia? Where was the democracy there?
