I had to remove a large limb from my pecan tree. Which meant I had some fodder for new kitchen spoons.

Pecan is hard AF. Would make durable tool handles if that’s what youre asking. Will dull the hell out of your blades/chisels when you work it though.
Not only that but for hand carving you want green wood. Like cut the limb, let it sit for two days, then hand carve it.
