Issue: Whenever users try to load a video online (could be from YouTube, SharePoint, etc.) the website loads, but the video itself won’t. Users are able to navigate the web just fine. Internet is stable where they are at, and they aren’t experiencing any connectivity issues.
Background: Inherited this network from another company. Issue has been occurring for several months before we started managing it.
Troubleshooting done so far:
- Thought it might have been a DNS issue. Currently, DNS is pointing to internal DNS servers. I manually pointed DNS on a workstation to Google’s DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4), flushed DNS, rebooted the computer, but still nothing.
- Cisco Umbrella is deployed on those workstations, nothing is being blocked from that end, but I have removed the application completely from one of the workstations and the issue is persistent.
- Reviewed the configuration on the firewall. There’s no active content filtering there, no significant firewall rules.
- Workstations are a mix between being hardwired and on WiFi.
- All Ubiquiti devices are up to date.
- Waiting on Ubiquiti support for a response.
Here’s the current setup:
1 USG 3P
1 US-8-60W
1 UAP-AC-Pro
I’ve worked with a bunch of Ubiquiti products in the past but haven’t got a clue where the issue is here. Any help is appreciated.
