I don’t think we have such a concept in lemmy. I can follow my lemmy user from mastodon (actually pleroma) but if I try to send a DM from there, nothing came to my lemmy attention.

There definitely is a DM system in Lemmy. From the website, if you click on a user there’s a “Send Message” option, and your notifications has a Messages section. I just don’t think it’s implemented in Jerboa.

I thought the same thing, but there is an option in the user profile page to send them a message:

never tried it though, so can’t say how it works

oh, cool… you’re right. i thought wrong because i tried to send a message from pleroma and from mastodon to @[email protected] and didn’t get anywhere.

maybe it works just between lemmy accounts, across the many instance.

DM? I can’t even use the app since last night.

I am logging in fine, I can see my avatar and username but every action that requires logging in, like commenting, viewing subscribed communities, etc just tells me “Login First” while I am already login.

Each time this happens I have to clear all data from the application on my phone and log back in and then after ~15 minutes of usages it crashes again and I have to reset everything again.

      Check out this post: https://lemmy.ml/post/1143559

Jerboa appears to get catastrophically confused by certain network interruptions, and is unable to recover. It leaves you in a sort of half-logged in state. Either go to app-settings and force-kill jerboa or restart your phone, and if your issue is the same as mine then Jerboa will log in automatically and work on again without having to retype your password or clear your app data.
