I was sad when Blizzard got merged with Activision, now it’s getting merged with Microsoft. From what I’ve seen, acquisitions don’t improve the quality of the gaming products. It usually creates stronger monopolies of IPs and makes them stop taking risks in terms of providing innovation for gameplay. I just hope that we don’t continue this trend but I fear it’s already too late.

Agreed, I don’t think I’ve ever seen company acquisitions actually improve products, usually just makes them worse.
