• Conquerors not colonizers, they had support from most of the major tribes. While recently they began acknowledging how diverse Saudi Arabia is, for the longest of time they had a policy of Najdification. They still show contempt to some aspects of the local cultures specially traditional Hejazi headdress.

      I’m somewhat torn because there’s a lot of positives but also some negatives that came from the conquest and unification of the Peninsula. I still prefer this outcome to being five or six different states, even if my ancestors fought for the Kingdom of Hejaz.

      Some say they took money from the Brits to take over at the end of the 2nd WW as a end to kalifat.

        Saudi fought against the Caliphate alongside the British in order to secure their own land. Originally Palestine was supposed to be included in Saudi’s bounty but the British gave it to the Zionists.
