She included in her bugs such things as bees or beetles, but also a snail and a velvet worm. No hemipterans were included though. But following your definition, all those above could be bugs because they are terrestrial.
I’m a firm bug centrist—non-hemipterans can be bugs but they have to be from a terrestrial lineage.
