Summary

USAID has placed two senior security officials on administrative leave after they blocked Elon Musk’s staff from accessing sensitive data.

DOGE staff, who lacked proper security clearance, sought entry to restricted areas, personnel files, and classified servers.

Musk has called for USAID’s shutdown, while the Trump administration is reportedly considering folding it into the State Department.

The agency has suspended over 100 career staffers, sparking concerns among Senate Democrats about national security risks and executive overreach in foreign aid management.

Pretty sure this was just as the Founders intended.

I seem to recall reading somewhere in the Federalist Papers that an unelected, unvetted, multibillionaire who doesn’t have a security clearance should be given all the rights to hire and fire anywhere within our government, at will, and with zero oversight from anyone, even if he’s foreign-born. Most especially to help give him an assist to going from multi-billionaire to trillionaire on the back of Americans’ labor.

This is starting to sound like some real Göring-type shit. Sure, he’s not dismissing police yet, but you don’t need to create a brownshirt army when people are willing to roll over and die if you just tell them they can’t afford food or medicine anymore.
