I am completely friendless. I don’t even gave Internet friends. I dont have a family to spend it with either. I had a dog that was my everything. But she got old and died as we all do.

I left abusive family and live in my car in the middle of the desert. I’m happy as can be, I’m FREE! There’s usually a good side to the bad stuff, hope you have a wonderful holidays and find ways to cheer yourself up. Life can be amazing and sometimes the negatives are in our heads.

This is on [email protected] so I’m not sure how to interpret it… but guaranteed I’m gonna be on Lemmy this Christmas Day, you’re welcome to join me, I’m sure there’ll be others.

Get a new dog, it’ll be starting over, but just get a new dog not the same as the last one because that’ll make you feel sad, better to have one than to not. (My parent would know.)

I’m deeply sorry to hear that. I have been in your shoes for five years straight. This is the first time I spend it in family since forever.
What I would usually do, is to prepare a very nice movie, or a great videogame I kept aside for a special occasion, drink wine, eat chocolates, the whole heartwarming exercise.
Other years, I would play a MMO and have a play/chat with strangers bored to death at their family gatherings.
I guess Christmas Eve is about giving. So my advice is don’t give up on you, you deserve to have a good time, no matter what makes you feel warm.

Plenty of gamers online during the holidays. They were great company to me for 3 years straight. I personally enjoyed that more than family dinners and lunches just waiting for the next argument. Find your thing and own it.

Even though for me this is just a cultural holiday I wouldn’t want to be alone on Christmas Day. This sounds so phony but if I was you I would check out local churches that have special Christmas dinners for poor or homeless folks. It would give you something to do. You wouldn’t be alone. And you would feel grateful about your state in life compared to many others. Also - sorry about your dog. I’ve been through it several times and it was more crushing than the death of any human for me.

Sorry you’re going through that bud. To us that have few or no friends, the holidays can be a very depressing time of the year. But, in time, if you put in the effort, you can make friends or at the very least, make the most of what you have.

Hopefully this doesn’t sound too conceited, but I truly hope you find happiness my friend.

This year, a lot of baby pets are going to be Christmas presents. A lot of them will be returned.

Make a difference. Get yourself some senior cats and dogs and give them the happy Christmas they deserve. Only If you can afford it.
