[Update]: Thanks everyone for answering and caring. I wasn’t expecting this reaction at all.

While I got over the panick attack quickly I really appreciated all the comfort and info you provided. <3

At the end of the day I only got a slightly worse headache and rebound effect but that was to be expected. It’s been barely three weeks since I’ve got started with medication and next Monday I have a follow-up meeting with my doctor.

I noted everything up with the rest of my experiences just in case it’s useful since I think it might be working better… xD

Anyway, thank you all again. (:

[END of Update]

I’m on Elvanse (lisdexanfetamin) 30mg I just took two pills instead of one by mistake.

I’m quite sure I wasn’t noticing anything with 30mg but now I fear an overdose or some shit.

Tho here if 30mg is not enough they jump you to 50mg which is not far from 60mg…

The thing is that I’m scared and don’t know what I should do.

My wife (who is ADHD) said vitamin c , orange juice for example. Apparently it reduces the uptake. Your advised not to have orange juice because it can interfere with the uptake

What?! Why have nobody never told me? I always drink a glass of vitamins in the morning shortly after I take my meds.

I thought it was the opposite. The extra acids melt away time-release layers so you get the spikes closer together and you run out sooner.
Edit: Reattach below linked this article about how grapefruit juice can either block enzymes, causing too much of the drug, or transporters, causing too little. So it’s somehow bad on both ends.

You’ll almost certainly be alright, keep track of your status and call a nurse/teladoc to see if you need medical assistance. The most important thing is you stay calm and don’t let your panic take over.

    https://www.drugs.com/dosage/lisdexamfetamine.html

Here is some online information I found, I can’t tell you how accurate it will be for you, but it seems that a max dosage is at least 70mg, and if I’m reading it correctly, that’s for pediatric cases.

I’m keeping track of the symptoms anyway since this is my first month on medication.

But thank you very much for the reassurance, I almost lost my shit thinking I could be done for a mistake like that.

Just had breakfast and much more calm. I also informed a few people irl just in case.

Well 60 mg is still not stronger than a fat line of speed, which people usually survive, and you have the extra benefit that they checked you for heart and other problems that would change the odds.

Consider that the half-life is long, so 24h later, you’d still have the equivalent of 1/4 of the extra 30 mg, so you should take about 7 mg less, which would be about 23 mg. NAM (not a mathematician).

As others have said, shouldn’t be an issue, I’m currently on 70 mg in the morning and another 20 mg after lunch since I felt the effect wasn’t sufficient later in the day so they gave me a second dosage for the afternoon. Here (in Sweden) it’s possible to get 70+30 mg if it’s necessary for a boost later in the day.

I got started with medication barely three weeks ago. Next Monday I’ll be seeing my doctor again to do a follow-up and for that I’ve been keeping a journal of the whole thing, including this event.

Tbh I don’t feel anything at all from 30mg, and for side effects I get really lethargic for a bit and maybe some headaches here and there (specially in the begging) at a regular time interval in the evenings.

I’m going to ask for something to counter that since it happens way to early for me.

I’m on Spain so at least I don’t have to deal with the drug situation there.

I’m late but you wanna call poison control in this situation. The wait time is very short, and they’re super nice. I recently had a similar situation. They called me every few hours to check on me after giving me instructions. If you have an iPhone, you can tell Siri to call poison control. The number is built in.

That’s both a really cool and useful thing to have. I don’t know if such service exists in my country tho. I just have the emergency number on my phone.

In the end it was all good and uneventful but thanks for the comment anyway. :)

Reading this comment section, specially in the moment was really comforting. Thanks for asking. <3

To be honest I didn’t have the chance to check it up which is a boomer.

I’ve kinda fell behind uni in the last weeks to the point I haven’t touched a book this week.

Studying fully from home (and without online clases or anything) is hard.

Anyway, I only got a slightly worse headache and a bigger rebound effect but nothing else. I now want to conduct some testing…

My Doc encouraged me to experiment. I’m on 20 mg Ritalin but he said I should try at a point also with 40 mg or 60 mg to see what is the best.

He warned about the side effects, which will be like drinking too much coffee. And I tried, got shaky, headache, feeling restless but tired at the same time and nauseous. All passed after a couple of hours.

If you feel like it’s worse than too much caffeine, call the ER!

I had done a lot of, mostly, well informed research on what I’m taking and I should have known better than to panicking…

It ended up serving as an experiment tho, I’m gathering data for a follow-up meeting with my doctor about how the medication is working.

It alm turned to be okey but thanks for the comment anyway. :)

Different scenario but maybe it’ll help your vibe. I used to take sertraline and accidentally took a double dose (200mg instead of 100mg) and while I initially was like ah fuck I might die I was also as close to stoned you can get on antidepressants to the point where I think I would’ve accepted it.

Keep calm, the first time I doubled up I was so stressed about blood pressure that my freaking out spiked my blood pressure (I’m on methylphenidate, myself). Doubling prescriptions is never good but, aside EoL oncology meds, dosages are usually set to never be close to the range for immediate toxicity.

Your head might be funny feeling today but you can make it through.

Doctors can prescribe up to 70mg doses of Elvanse, so you shouldn’t overdose. If necessary seek medical attention, but most likely you’ll just notice it come on much more since you still seem to be trying to find the right dose for you. If you weren’t noticing anything on 30mg then you might see some positive effects at 60mg, but you should work with your doctor to find the right dose for you, taking more than prescribed once is a mistake, doing it regularly might be seen as abuse of a controlled drug.
