      No doubt they are rare in Bris waterways but they are very hard to spot, even when you know where and how to look for them.

      I was taken by a friend to a spot in the blue mountains where they knew there was a pair. We sat in silence by the creek for a couple of hours before we saw them and that was for less than 20 seconds.

        I’ve been out looking a couple of times in spots where I’ve heard they were to be found, but I’ve never had any luck.

        Maybe one day

      I saw one once but it was in a botanical gardens in Tasmania and I had to look very closely.
