Drag has spent all day in voice chat with drag’s trans friends in America and now they’re crying. They’re going to die if they don’t pack up their entire lives and never see their family again, and they don’t even know how to financially accomplish that. No matter what happens, their lives as they know them are over, and they’re going to suffer. They thought they had more time. They thought Harris was going to win. Now they know that if they can’t get out, they’re going to be murdered. They’re scared and sad and they’re crying.

Fuck every single person who contributed to this. Drag’s friends didn’t deserve this. Whatever fascist agenda made anyone think this was an okay outcome, fuck them. This is not okay!

Those who loved you yesterday still love you today. The legal protections may be changing for the worse, but the actual people caring about LGBT+ friends and loved ones are still all here. We did before, regardless of what the law said, and we will now. I think it’s important to hold onto that going forward. Those of us with differences from what is now the mainstream need to keep sticking together no matter which way the wind blows. Drag and drag’s friends are included in my support for sure.

No, the allies aren’t here anymore. The allies came in 2020 to vote for Biden, and 4 years later they gave up, because Harris didn’t pander to them enough. They thought drag’s friends’ lives were worth less than whatever stupid motivation for hating Harris. They were fakes, and they outed themselves as fakes yesterday.

Trans people in America can’t trust Americans to help them. America is dead. Everyone who isn’t a fascist should be working on a plan to leave now.

I feel all the posts here today want to pin what happened on one thing, because we want to understand it, but I believe that is a mistake. I don’t really want to try to wade into that discussion now though. Everyone is understandably mad and afraid.

Politicians have failed us once more, in really big ways which will have ripples for years to come. But my stances haven’t changed since yesterday, and neither have most people’s, be those good or bad. The laws don’t keep us safe. If someone wanted to hurt somebody else, the law only steps in after something has already happened. People break laws to hurt people, but people also break laws to help people.

I won’t act like I understand fully the situation many are left in today. But I will still try and understand what I can and to do what I can to help people that are in a bad place. I don’t think I could leave if I wanted to. I’m not rich. I don’t have any special skills. I don’t know anyone anywhere else in the world. What support I do have is here, and they are in the same situation as I am.

I believe it’s right to be extra guarded right now, but I don’t want to see anyone totally cutting themself off. The world is a richer place with drag, drag’s friends, and all the people like them. They’re all still in the vision of millions of people’s vision of this country. If communities of people want to pull away for safety, I get it, but many of us all still who we said we were before. I truly wish drag and drag’s friends and everyone else the best. There is always more strength in community than being on one’s own.

Everyone is understandably mad and afraid.

Mad? No. Furious. I’m now going to be counting days until people that I love die. No suicides in my circle yet that I know of but, there probably will be.

Politicians have failed us once more

          No.

(Non-)Voters failed us yet again. The blood is solidly on their selfish, myopic hands.

            I can’t disagree with anything you’ve said.

I’ve tried to come up with something more to say, but I don’t want to sound patronizing. I basically just wanted to acknowledge your anger since you took the time to respond to me. I didn’t want to seem like I ignored you.

Drag is correct. Every. Single. Anti-electoralist/accelerationist who didn’t vote or voted for a Stein has broadcast that they don’t give a fuck about Palestinians, Ukrainians, women, LGBTQ+, or humanity at large. Any hand-waving or “bbbut Harris” is just an excuse to assuage their guilt and avoid taking responsibility for their choices. Dems didn’t help but they didn’t physically force anyone to choose to allow facists to capture the government.

I am so very sorry, Drag. I can’t believe my country made this choice. I am so afraid. I am so disappointed. I am so angry. I am so sad.

I hope Drag’s friends are ok. I wish I knew what to tell myself and my friends to do, too.

Drag is going to study the immigration laws in drag’s country and figure out who’s responsible for deciding the policy on refugees. And then drag is going to take to the streets and call for refugee visas for trans Americans. We can ALL do something about this.

No they wouldn’t have. You saw the polls when Kamala picked Tim Walz. The people wanted popular progressive policies. The donor-class establishment messaging that followed is precisely why they lost.

That’s what people said in 2016. Democrats keep running the same centrist bullshit and getting wrecked because of it. It matters so that the party can make actual changes.

Nah. This is what those sitting out for their “moral high-ground” don’t get through their heads. The entire government, all three branches, is now captured by literal Hitler-appreciating fascists who have promised to end democracy. There probably won’t be another opportunity for the dems to fuck up a presidential election.

Yes. Fuck every single person who told people that Harris was a fascist, Harris wasn’t good enough to vote for, voting for Harris is genocide. The election results we’re seeing are those people’s fault. The people who hated Harris enough to let Trump get elected. Genocide supporters who killed drag’s friends.

They’re going to die if they don’t pack up their entire lives and never see their family again

Hopefully that’s hyperbolic. Not saying its impossible (my state in particular has been building databases of trans people and definitely not for trans people’s benefit). Unfortunately, there’s a sizable chunk of the population who wanted trans people to suffer more.

They thought Harris was going to win.

Its a campaign that has been running on “fuck you, we don’t need your vote” messaging from day 1 towards some of its most loyal voting demographics. The fact that some where projecting it to be even been close was a miracle and was based on a great overestimation of turnout. Its not like Trump did significantly better than 2020.

They still thought that the leftists in America had a heart. Drag thought the leftists had a heart.

There is no left movement in America. Americans would let drag’s friends be sent to concentration camps because they hated Harris more than they hated genocide. If you only oppose genocide when the politician is nice to you, you’re not a leftist. It’s just virtue signalling. When the cards were down, America chose fascism, and everyone saying not to vote for Harris is responsible. Those are the people who killed the leftist movement. It’s all over now. Those of them who aren’t bots and Russian trolls can enjoy their shiny new police state, and keep blaming Harris for their own actions.

How could anyone with a heart vote for someone openly defend unconditional support for mass murder of children?

If you only oppose genocide when the politician is nice to you, you’re not a leftist.

Not sure who you are talking about here. People who refused to vote for genocide regardless of the candidate aren’t conditionally against genocide: that’s the people voting for Harris. The same people who told trans people to shut up for pointing out the record lack of representation or support by the Harris campaign compared to other recent campaigns. Those aren’t people who are going to do anything to protect trans people. They just wouldn’t actively target them, so at least blue states would be relatively safe unlike what we got.

Harris threw the election. The Harris campaign is responsible for their own campaign and the DNC is responsible for picking such an historically unpopular candidate for their candidate without even getting input from voters.

Kamala was less popular as VP among democrats than Trump was as president among republicans. Yeah. Trump is awful. Unfortunately he has a base of awful people who favor that. Emulating that behavior doesn’t make someone popular among people who’d vote democrat.
