Not if Microsoft collaborating with these trash developers can help it. Gotta attempt to stifle all Linux advances in favor of spying on customers for profit

guess I should thank them for finally giving me a reason to uninstall apex and keep it that way.

EA finally blocked battlefield one as well. They’re in a speed run against Ubisoft to get a bailout first.

They back ported their newer in-house anti-cheat system which is in place for 2042, and possibly others.

The openness of the Linux operating systems makes it an attractive one for cheaters and cheat developers. Linux cheats are indeed harder to detect and the data shows that they are growing at a rate that requires an outsized level of focus and attention from the team for a relatively small platform.

So like, they put Easy Anti-cheat in the game and had it enabled for Linux, but its not good enough to actually function as an anti-cheat on linux? At least it can’t function well enough without failing a cost-benefit analysis?

Side note: i never realized that Epic Games makes Easy Anti-Cheat

It just means they don’t want to expend the little effort it takes to do pattern scanning looking for cheaters.

Easy way to catch shooter cheaters: they move faster, they aim faster, they fire faster, they look at an enemy through a wall for x amount of seconds while one or both are moving, they don’t touch the ground for long long periods of time etc.

Why do all that when Windows players will simply let you root around in their kernel?

They’re just going with the cheapest shittiest option for detecting cheaters.

Correct. All apex ever did was ride on the coattails of a once great IP
