New York magazine on Thursday said its Washington correspondent, Olivia Nuzzi, is on leave after learning the star journalist had allegedly engaged in a romantic relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” a spokesperson for New York magazine said in a statement in response to questions from Status.

“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” the spokesperson added. “An internal review of her published work has found no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias. She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers’ trust.”

    She’s 31.

I mean, she’s an adult, but … ewww.

In October 2018, Trump personally invited Nuzzi into the Oval Office for an exclusive interview.[24]

    Eww, eww.

While she was a 20-year-old junior at Fordham University in 2013, Nuzzi volunteered as an intern for Anthony Weiner’s New York City mayoral campaign.[9] During her brief stint with the campaign, she was hired as a staff writer by NSFWcorp and described her experiences as an intern on the Weiner campaign in a blog post on July 28, 2013.[10] In it, she asserted that Weiner referred to her and another female intern as “Monica,” that an unnamed source told her that Weiner had lied to his campaign manager, who had quit as a result, and that the manager was one of a “series of staffers who have fled the campaign”.[9]

I mean, this looks no bueno.

According to another article, it was not physical.

Nuzzi confirmed that “earlier this year, the nature of some communication” between herself “and a former reporting subject turned personal.”

“During that time, I did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source,” Nuzzi added. “The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict.

I expect some type of flirtation or sexting maybe? Neither is okay for objectivity, but brain worms don’t have phone technology just yet.

Well then I hope RFK didn’t ever have the phone up to his ear, because he claims he had hundreds of clients with giant tumors behind their ears from using cell phones.

You know how you see all those people walking around with giant tumors behind their ears?

She should be fired. Oh, now that RFK isn’t a candidate you come clean? Clear breach of journalistic ethics that only got revealed after it didn’t matter. How long would this have kept up had RFK stayed in the race?

This is as weird to me as when I found out RFK’s wife was Cheryl Hines, the attractive actress who played Larry David’s ex-wife on Curb Your Enthusiasm. She says they don’t share the same political views. My question is what the fuck could they possibly have in common at all?!
