For the past 3 months i have been developping a POC for an idea that i had when visiting Helsinki.

When i walked into a gift store i found a little wood puzzle where the wood pieces slice into each other to form a 3D figurine of a dwarf. I was like “Yooo this is so cool” and started to think about how cool it would be to have a software that convert 3D stl models i use in 3D printing and being able to use them also in laser cutting.

But it look like there is only one option in the market (a mod for 360 fusion) and it’s not maintained, also all the alternatives are not really good to process complex models …

So i started working on a small soft, and now i’m able to slice kind of complex models. The current implementation of the software is still super buggy since i developped it to go straight to the point, and now i need to make a more user friendly version if i want to make it usable by other people.

EDIT : Added a video, the soft allow user to manipulate slice and move them arround in the model to really control how the model will be sliced and how the slices will interract with each other

Do you think the laser cutting community would be interrested in this ?
