The existence of the Palestinian people is not under threat of destruction. This is a conflict about land.
According to the world democracy index Israel is at 7.8, same as the USA. Palestine is listed as 3.5.

Israel has improved on that ranking, while the USA became worse.
And sure, Israel isn’t a perfect democracy, but it is certainly one.
