It was really “environ” that clued me in to it today. It’s such an odd word and nothing else was even close to the same meaning. They’ve had similarish connections (e.g. “starts with an abbreviated day of the week” or “ends with a month”) before many times, and I think this exact connection (or at least some variation of “contains an element”) might have been used before. So after staring at environ for a while, the fact that it ends with “iron” jumped out at me. I found “jargon” after that pretty quickly and was then confident I knew what purple was. Took surprisingly long after making that realisation to actually solving purple though!
