I know this won’t compare to the challenge runs, but it’s my best run yet and holy shit was it a charmed run. I had more items than I could have possibly ever used. So much damn fun! So hooked on this game!

Give us the highlights! What items did you find, especially early on, to help give you a boost? What challenges did you face?

🤣 two of those armor upgrades were free from the blacksmith and it started at +1 already. I’m beefy

Early on was a blooming dirk and a shocking hand axe, a nice scale armor +1 and the horn of plenty. This was my first run with the duelist so there was an absolute learning curve on how to best use everything together, but I found a really nice synergy with the “eating buffs” and using the horn of plenty on the hot bar to snack regularly. The ROW was a late game find or I would have boosted it up, but I found the ring of tenacity to be a great boost for survivability. Keeping the blooming dirk and pairing it with the great sword I found later on allowed me to give it free upgrades and create a veritable seed/dewdrop farm on every single floor. Running with the horn and farming my way through every floor it was easy to max out my level and have enough potions of experience to add extra talent points to all but one tier of talents.

The absolute MVP of the run was the blooming Dirk’s weapon skill. Blink with invisibility and free surprise attacks or blasting wand chasm cheesing is absolutely overpowered as hell.

Whenever I play duelist I find myself going champion just so I can always use a daggers ability. I’ll be fighting yog with a t2 dagger in my offhand just for the ability lol

Why upgrading the RoT as a champion? It is only useful on low hp, and, unless you are planning on being at 10 hp all the time and just praying for no magical enemy ever, why don’t just bump those upgrades onto the armor, so you don’t get low in the first place? And why a RoE, it’s like the worst ring in the game, like, even with it magical hits still hit hard.

Rot seems to really add up when you get swarmed in my EXTREMELY limited experience (less than 100 total runs). This also was my first duelist run ever so a lot of what I did was just based on experience with the other classes which is why this wound up tanky as my last class run was zerker

Yes, but stick to just upgrading armor. Even if you get swarmed, they will all only deal 0 damage pretty hit. Its just better and more worth it
