I’m seriously frustrated, I registered a Github account using proton mail, the code should arrive in 5-6 minutes but the verification code didn’t come even after 6 hours.
I tried to resend the code but it also didn’t receive.
I checked my proton account and Sign up in medium, it worked perfectly fine and the code receive in a matter of seconds.
After that i checked a Github issue where many user also reported this issue with Github, when they try to use proton main for registration.
I have the same problem with GMail, never cared enough to solve this problem though. I just used Authenticator app instead.
GitHub does not let you sign up with a Proton domain:
Hi, Our abuse detecting systems flagged your account because of the email address you used to register the account. Before we can remove the flag we need you to add and verify a personal, non-disposable, non-aliased email address.
MS wants your data, and if you don’t give it to them, you cannot use their services.
How can they know if an email is disposable or aliased? I use those all the time with fastmail. Works fine with github.
But fastmail is not exactly private since it’s hosted in Australia, part of the five eyes pact. Maybe that’s why they are ok with it.

From the domain.
