The post Xitter web has spawned soo many āesotericā right wing freaks, but thereās no appropriate sneer-space for them. Iām talking redscare-ish, reality challenged āculture criticsā who write about everything but understand nothing. Iām talking about reply-guys who make the same 6 tweets about the same 3 subjects. Theyāre inescapable at this point, yet I donāt see them mocked (as much as they should be)
Like, there was one dude a while back who insisted that women couldnāt be surgeons because they didnāt believe in the moon or in stars? I think each and every one of these guys is uniquely fucked up and if I canāt escape them, I would love to sneer at them.
People are so, so, so bad at telling whatās a bot and whatās real. I know social media is swarming with bots, but if youāre interacting with somebody whoās saying anything more complicated than āP o o s i e I n B i oā itās probably not a bot. A similar thing happens in online games, too, and itās usually the excuse people use before harassing someone else
But damn the lengths people will go to to avoid admitting they were wrong. This comment chain just keeps going on with somebody whoās convinced

This account kind of kicked up some drama too, basically for the same reason (answering an LLM prompt), but itās about mushroom ID instead: https://www.reddit.com/user/SeriousPerson9 Iāve seen people like this who use voice-to-text and run their train of thought through ChatGPT or something, like one person notorious on /r/gamedev. But people always assume itās some advanced autonomous bot with stochastic post delays that mimic a humanās active hours when like, itās usually just somebody copy/pasting prompts and responses.

Yeah I thought this one looked very very made up and far too on the nose. I think itās fine to label human-run spam/troll accounts as bots though.
