Do you have an idea why specific communities of federated instances don’t show up, e.g. [email protected] or [email protected] ? When I search for them (either !x@y or https://y/c/x) I get no results, even after a few days of waiting.
It sometimes takes a bit to search, but eventually it will and will present you with a link titled dungeonworld@ttrpg.network with a destination of https://lemmy.one/c/dungeonworld@ttrpg.network
And voila. If a community hasn’t been subscribed to from your home instance it’s my understanding that this is the only reliable way to get it federated. Once you do this search it will show up but no comments or anything come across until someone (e.g. you) actively subscribes to the community.
I did this for dungeonworld so you should see something now, but give it a go for bassment.
Switching devices solved it for me. I’ve tried your steps on Android (both in Jerboa and Chromium) without success. But on desktop it worked somehow and now I’m successfully subscribed to both communities. Thanks midnight!

Anything not on the linked list I believe can be added if someone from lemmy.one subscribes to a community on whatever instance

I’ve had issues doing it from mobile, but on desktop this is what I do:

There’s definitely still some growing pains going on with Lemmy/Kbin right now. Glad you got it sorted 🙂
