Wasn’t Omari Benjamin touted as the second coming once?
If every second coming was a real second coming then the entire league would be just Arsenal youth products lol
You might be thinking of Omari Hutchinson (who went to Chelsea).
Interesting that they list the following as still in contact negotiation talks:
- Amario Cozier-Duberry
- Karl Hein
- Reuell Walters
I thought Walters had said his farewells and was already mentally out the door. And I thought Cozier-Duberry was almost certain to be staying.
As for the players who are definitely leaving, someone is going to massively luck out with Okonkwo. He’s going to be flooded with offers after his loan with Wrexham. Per the documentary series, damn did he kill it in goal for them!
heard it’s for compensation.
Any chance Wrexham signs Arthur permanently?
Must say, Cedric wasn’t that bad for us overall. Definitely not nearly good enough though.
Elneny obviously was class throughout, I have literally 0 complaints about the man.
Yeah, I feel like Cedric gets a lot of unwarranted shot from our fan base. He was never going to take us to the next level, but he was a good squad player. Very low drama, always willing to step in when needed, and usual put in okay performances.
As for Elneny, yeah, he’s such a good guy, and a very solid player. He’s another one who is a humble, low-drama, good squad player - though he was more consistent and higher quality that Cedric. And he scored some fantastic bangers over the years. He was another player who got unwarranted shit from some gooners. But he brought so much to our squad.
I wish them both the very best.
Cedric for me will always be noted for when he stepped in for Tomi’s first big injury and actually did decently well lol. The one fullback who could actually stay fit.
Cedric was also supposed to be a good leader and role model for the team. One of the leaders in the club.
Felt like a player who just put his head down and did what he was asked, and as you mentioned, doesn’t look for the drama or attention.
Like a lot of previous players who copped stick, Holding, Xhaka (before his redemption arc), people are looking for something to blame and I think Cedric was a convenient scapegoat.
Not a player to push us further forward, but he played a role in other seasons when needed.
