Picture this: a six year old boy did something bad in class and gets in trouble for it. On the verge of tears he has an idea, he puts on his little league helmet. There, now no one can see him cry. He feels a little better. He’s safe in here. He can’t get in trouble in here. He refuses to take it off for the rest of the school day, insisting he just likes how it feels.
