What? Zelda and Mario have coexisted since 1986… The first game for each was only released a year apart (the first Mario game came out in 1985, first Zelda game in 1986). The Mario reference in this is from Super Mario 64, which was released in 1996. I don’t think there’s any specific Zelda game being referenced.
Everything you’ve said barely makes any sense. And there’s no LotR reference, you can’t just say “uuuh, they eat food in this too!!” and say that’s a reference.
The root question of my comment is, why is Zelda’s saying her cake is bad vs Peach’s whose is delicious? I had to assume it’s from some newer iteration of the Zelda franchise that I’m not familiar with since the image of her appears newer than Mario 64. So if someone (me) did play Mario 64 and understood that reference, but doesn’t know the newer Zelda entries then this doesn’t entirely come together for that person (me again).
Then my mind jumped to- assuming that there is some zelda-franchise lore about her making a shitty cake, well, here is another franchise with another female character offering food to a male character with humorous undertones, and that could be used to riff on this meme that OP (or whoever) could make. “Dear Aragorn, Please come to Helm’s Deep. I’ve made a delicious stew for you. Yours truly, Eowyn” etc. Not really a stretch unless you’re artificially limiting yourself to nintendo franchises.
I may have been a bit buzzed when I posted my previous comment but I really don’t think its incoherent enough to be raked over the coals for.
Wasn’t this originally princess peach?
Yep! Here’s the reference for anyone who hasn’t played or doesn’t remember it from Mario 64.
To add, it was a fully voiced letter. In N64 era. To young me, that blew me away (plus it was my first 3D)
I’ll always remember my WTF reaction to hearing Mario for the first time. “THAT’S what he sounds like? What’s wrong with him??”
He’s Italian. That’s what’s wrong with him.
Nah, he’s an old cockney plumber from brooklyn
And also a castrato, apparently.
Very different than the crappy animated cartoon
“Swing your arms from side to side…”
I would have preferred Lou Albano’s voice, although I got used to his canon voice.
“Wha-hoo!”
*ten minute coughing fit*
That was the last time she was referred to as Princess Toadstool. She was called her Japanese name Peach from then on.
And then years of watching Gen Zers go back and play Super Mario World on the SNES and then wonder aloud who “Princess Toadstool” is.

What’s the reference for people who know the Mario reference but stopped playing games later in life and don’t get the Zelda reference?
(also, consider the Eowyn reference, with aragorn+stew)

Your whole comment is like a fever dream.
Damn, why so hostile?

Yeah, this version was shared in April. No source provided, unfortunately.
