My dogs ofc do this under her breath bark cus she’s having fun
But to the point of the unknown noises sometimes when I start my car remotely to get the engine running in winter they’ll start barking cus I’m sure the thought process is “OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT!? GOTTA PROTECT THE HOUSE” or any noise they thought they heard outside
Fortuanlty that’s no where near as miserable as a dog whistle
A good analogy I heard it’s like screaming from a small child. They giggle and scream when crawling and running out of joy (from me chasing them in my experience) but also start screaming if they stub their toe running or don’t get their way
Of course it is. The dog is barking because it’s scared of a weird sound it doesn’t understand.
Also no I don’t think barking is particularly enjoyable it’s just a way of expressing fear or excitement, depending on context
He edited the comment to be a period
Dare I ask what the original comment was
Sure. it was something like: “is this really abuse? Don’t dogs like barking??”
Ah, ew
Yeah to basically back up what you said:
