You’ll be hard pressed to find someone deny basic science in today’s world.

They don’t outright deny it (out loud), but they cast doubt and equivocate about the parts that don’t agree with their preexisting worldview.

Edit: not to mention they often disagree with scientists on what constitutes “basic” or “settled” science.
