I’ve seen some disappointment online about this being only a bunch of standalone scenarios, rather than an actual campaign. And it’s hard to disagree with them about that, to be honest.
But also, there’s a hell of a lot of interesting stories to be told that aren’t grand enough for a whole campaign. So seeing standalone scenarios to do them is really interesting. I wonder if a DLC that half-and-halfs it wouldn’t be better. A bunch of standalone scenarios along with a single campaign, and then maybe next year another DLC with the rest of these standalone scenarios and another campaign?
Anyway, I’m still working my way through the campaigns already in the game. Since it’s got no new civs, I’ll probably wait to pick this one up until later, when I’ve already finished the other campaigns.
It think they release too many civs as it is so it’s nice they aren’t releasing more since they do have a habit of not fixing things on time (has path finding been fixed). Though they should of made this way cheaper.
Looks like the version currently being used for Hidden Cup V has pathfinding that has been significantly improved. I think the same version is available to the public in the current PUP. Still not perfect and I suspect it’ll need a bunch more improvements before we can actually say it’s “good”, but it has at least fixed the worst problems with archer micro.
How is the hidden cup going, I don’t have time to watch that much content but am curious since T90 said he was making it big. Also that’s nice to hear that, that has finally be fixed. Now all they need to do is add more maps to ranked play.
It starts at 1 am my time, so my ability to watch live is limited. Thankfully it gets rerun immediately after it finishes on Twitch, and YT can rerun whenever the viewer wants.
I can’t tell you how viewership numbers have been, but the games have been really good. It’s still early stages yet.
