    Does this mean all swimming in creeks and waterholes will be discouraged given how sensitive platypus nests are? Not that swimming has ever been encouraged afaik. Some swimming spots get quite popular.

        Deep enough, yes. Safe enough, depends. If you stick to the known and well visited waterholes and play safe you should be fine. Many creeks will often have hidden debris from floods though and often the water isn’t very inviting (run off from surrounding suburbs, roads etc depending on where you are in the park).
