    Not that I agree with the government considering introducing new taxes after they explicitly stated that they wouldn’t, but your proposed scenario is a little disingenuous (also ending your comment with ‘Wake up x’ is fairly cliche at this point).

    There are plenty of disadvantaged elderly Australians who are living in poverty and being treated like second class citizens based on their age, I’m sure that in most cases this money would be used to aid this group of people rather than the cashed up, multi-property owning boomers.

    The mentioned task force is also considering increasing taxes for the mentioned wealthy older generation to help support their peers who haven’t done so well for themselves, which sounds like a more fair proposition to me (someone who is not in that group).

      There are always exceptions at both ends of the spectrum, but the broad averages are as I said.

      Do not let them fool you into thinking it will be someone else paying for it, somehow it is always you.
