After years of reddit/twitter/facebook propping up fascism/bigotry with algorithms & bots I’m honestly surprised and relieved to be in an online space that clearly rejects their ideology.

They can have reddit/facebook/twitter. AFAIC the only way to reach some of these people is to leave them alone long enough to realize on their own.

Lemmy.world admins are doing an amazing job dealing with everything. Their recent decision to defederate from exploding heads (or whatever its called) really goes to show that they’re in it for the right reasons.

Any authoritarian ideology left or right is abhorrent to humanity. People use the term fascist too loosely, I seen it apply to capitalist minded very socially liberal people, disagreeing to hard to centre left ideas, being against Russia or China, to being generally pro liberal democracy and pro-establishment.

On the flip side I seen pro-Russian disinfo on hard left subreddits, in which Russia acts like a fascist state.

Disagreement is healthy, but if you can’t say it in public don’t say it on the internet.

You know what, I hope admins find a way to make money from the fediverse and make a full-time job or start a company to turn a profit. People getting paid dedicating themselves to fediverse will improve the experience for everyone involved.
