That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.by Dayna Craig

The scientists found that in the central region of the mountain range, Earth’s crust is currently peeling away, a process scientifically known as lithospheric foundering. Kilb and Schulte-Pelkum reported the findings in December in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
The hypothesis lined up with previous speculation that the area had undergone lithospheric foundering, which happens when Earth’s outermost layer sinks into the lower layer of the mantle. Now, the study authors believe that the process is ongoing and is currently progressing to the north of the mountain range, according to the study.

As the name implies, the MIDI Blaster plays MIDI file albums from floppy disks. About 100 SoundFonts come preloaded on the device and they can be changed on the fly. For those unfamiliar with SoundFonts, they contain recordings of instruments and other sounds that are played as instructed by a MIDI file. So by changing the SoundFont, the entire feel of a song can be altered.

Zachariah@lemmy.worldto Data Hoarder@lemmy.world•Unpowered SSD endurance investigation finds severe data loss and performance issues, reminds us of the importance of refreshing backups21·3 days agoYou may not know it, but SSDs will lose data after a period of time if they are simply left unplugged, which can be a serious threat to your data if you store backups or precious files on unplugged SSDs. A year-two update on the how long can SSDs store data unpowered video series is another reminder about the importance of regularly refreshing your backups with a bit of juice. The tests consist of storing data on an SSD and then leaving it unplugged for years to see the impact on the stored data.

Zachariah@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you feel about posting to a dead thread?3·3 days agoBack in the day being a thread necromancer was frowned upon. Now, it doesn’t bump the thread to the top of the forum, so who cares
I never even saw the problem back then. If new info made the thread relevant again (even if it was just that someone new had something to say), it was fine with me to see a thread pop back up to the top.
