Oh man, you should have seen me looking for the HDMI ports. I was very confused until I realized my mistake. Turns out that there’s more than one kind, who knew🤷
I’ll have to give that camera connection a second look lol
Damn does this mean I have to buy another raspberry pi or can the one running octoprint serve double duty?
I just picked up a pi4 b today and was tinkering with octoprint.
So far it looks great, i just haven’t figured out how to get the pi camera module 3 working quite yet. The stream from octoprint just constantly tries to load.
I’m excited to try some prints with it soon!
I’m about to start the sanding process. I did a bit by hand before deciding to pick up a sanding tool this week. Fingers crossed that makes the fiberglass sanding easier as well
No, that’s a new one.
Would greasing my gantry screw help?
If I’m missing steps due to heat is the only solution a new motherboard?
I thought so too! I cleaned it up a bit and glued the bottom back on. Its my pencil cup at work now
I have! This printer actually finished a 3ft sailboat rudder before this print. I popped some pictures of it in as well
Do you think that could be be solved by adjusting the z offset?
Thanks for the tip! I’ve been hesitant to start messing around to much but I think it should if it means it’s more reliable
I’ve been looking at this for a while. The camera I have on it is a security camera that i put on my desk while it prints if I’m gone.
Do you think its worth pulling the trigger on a raspberry pie to get this set up?
It would at least once lol
It’ll probably be one or two more weekends worth of work, but I think I’m close. Its been an interesting learning experience, and honestly one that I probably couldn’t have done without a 3d printer. I’m very glad I gave it a shot and didn’t dump the boat like I had initially though about
I dig it!
And thank you! I’ll post an update once its done and in the water
Thats for the Hunter 170 next to it.
That makes me wonder if I couldn’t get that canoe sailing though.
I enjoy playing and playing against land destruction. There are plenty of ways to counter it and I really don’t get the hate.
Commander taboos bug the heck out of me. I get not everyone wants to puzzle their way out of stax hell, but the cards are there to use. I feel like there’s to much of “I don’t want to play this because it will prevent someone from doing the thing”
Yes, I just finished printing a rudder core for my sailboat.
For all the headache its caused, its also saved me from several trips to the store to find cable ties, chip clips, a hair dryer holder, pencil cups, spice racks, etc.
Sweet thank you!
How’s Freecad these days? I avoided awhile ago it because it looked difficult to use but I think this might push me over to it
It’s hard to tell, but I’ll do some poking around today.
The original hardware was drilled into the wood over the panel and sealed. The rudder had a pin that went through the mount and it’s own hardware. That pin likely bounced out and torqued the whole piece off.
Thank you for the advice!
Thank you, i’ll do some digging!
