There’s nothing like playing the most up to date games, and this is nothing like an up to date game!
KSP first released in early access way back in 2011! But with some of the mods available it can be made to look like a newly released game.
This game probably isn’t for everyone, with it’s rather steep learning curve and a lot of un-explained mechanics, but it has one of the most knowledgeable communities there is! So learning is easier now than ever.
Players direct a nascent space program, staffed and crewed by green humanoid aliens known as “Kerbals”. The game features a realistic orbital physics engine, allowing for various real-life orbital maneuvers such as Hohmann transfer orbits and orbital rendezvous.
It definitely is not for everyone, but if it is for you, it will be one of your favorite games.
If you do decide to play it, look up a tutorial series on YouTube. Mike Aben is my favorite one.
Absolutely, Mike Aben is my favourite too! He’s especially good if you like the actual maths behind mechanics.
I tried to love KSP but ultimately bounced off it. I did end up having a really good time watching GiantBomb play the game during their Project Beast series.
I think for me there’s just too much going on to ever really dig into it. It’s a bit like the Crusader Kings series in that regard, at least for me. I love everything that’s going on, but I’d rather watch someone else play it than try to get my head around it.
I can understand that, I’m the same with plenty of other games.
It’s almost like learning and using some new fangled software, rather than playing a game. Which happens to be right up my street!
