The 43-year-old oversaw 52 Isuzu UTE A-League fixtures at the Jets, guiding the club to a ninth and 10th-place finish across his two-season stint.
Does this mean the return of Zad’s Lads to McDonald Jones Stadium?
That would be a downgrade, long-term. Papas is a much more ambitious coach football-wise, which will scale better with an improved squad. Though I guess Zadkovich might be able to deliver better results right now.
Maybe. I don’t rate Papas personally, maybe it was the squad but it seemed all hype no end product.
With Zadkovich I just figured whilst the Jets ownership was still in limbo, a former captain with local coaching experience would be a logical option. He wasn’t bad at Glory so they could do worse.
Must be rough supporting the Jets right now. No chance of winning anything or playing entertaining football. No money for exciting signings. Just suffering.
