Perfectly normal bilateral relations in the rules-based international order
So is breaching US trade sanctions illegalility now? I didn’t know the US was our official World Police? https://youtu.be/P7JRvwfHFwo?si=mPoIOs9i7gg1b9Z-
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

This seems like the perfect advertising pitch for Comac. “Buy our planes, they stay in the air, we screw the doors in all the way, and we won’t come steal them from you”
Unrelated 3rd party gets mad at 1st party for transaction with 2nd party. 4th party (neighbor of 2nd party) steals transacted item on behalf of 3rd party. Seems legit.
I figured US sanctions in this case would just limit which companies can interact with US based companies and within US borders, isn’t that how sanctions on Cuba work? Obviously the US just does what it wants but it’s not clear to me how this was legally justified, if at all.
The article only left me more confused as to why or how that happened…
Near as I can tell, Iran sold the plane to Venezuela in 2022, but it has been grounded in Argentina since then [for some reason I don’t quite get]. Argentina is trying to score brownie points with the US, so they handed the plane over to Washington, and that’s how we got this headline.
Was grounded in Argentina for the crew of this cargo plane raised suspicion for both being double of the people needed to operate a commercial cargo flight and that half of the Iranians were part of the Iranian liberation army. This was sold from Iran to Venezuela while both are having an embargo of US products where commercial transactions involving US products has been suspended.
