Although with the amount of tech debt in the government any IT work will be an uphill battle and no politician wants to pay to cut down tech debt. So I don’t see a way out for them at the moment.

if IT people reviewed these things they might not go to the preferred liberal friendly individuals
I’ve been in this industry for 10+ years under both Liberal and Conservative governments - the contracts are not dependent on what government is in power.
In fact, the IBM Phoenix contract - the poster boy for one of the most wasteful IT contracts ever - was awarded in 2011 when Harper was in power.
