I’m not sure I get the marketing appeal of something being based on a true story, especially a movie based off of a game franchise? Looks like it could be a fun mindless movie though.

It’s a movie based on the true story of someone who was good enough at Gran Turismo he got a shot at becoming a race car driver. It’s a movie based on a story about the game and not on the game itself.

As an auto racing fan who gets the commercial for this every commercial break in Indycar or NASCAR, I am at the very least glad that they have a different trailer to show hopefully.

Yes, I know that movie trailers are ads, that’s not the issue. It’s the content of the post that makes the OP look like they are a shill, and that doesn’t sit right with me. Had the OP added their opinion or some thoughts on the trailer, it would be better but right now this comes across like an ad.

Neill Blomkamp is a director with an amazing vision. District 9, Elysium, Chappie and the Oats Studio short films on YouTube.

But yet, Gran Turismo looks so generic. We’ve seen stories like this before. I’ll watch eventually because I’m hoping there’s something special that doesn’t come through with these trailers.
