The Nuevo León team, which intends on entering MLR 2025, will play out of Monterrey. The team does not have an official name yet. However, the contract will enable Rugby Ventures Mexico to obtain financial support due to the facilities and the construction improvements to the new stadium.

    MLR looks to be all over the place. In the past couple of weeks they’re lost teams in NY and Toronto, now adding one in a location that by the sound of it does not have money in hand to get a facility to play in. I hope I’m wrong but this doesn’t sound very viable

      I saw this in the article but apparently there’s been interest there since 2020. So at least this isn’t being done on a whim. It is pretty crazy to hear about another expansion in the wake of two established teams folding. When 2023 season wrapped up I was worried there wouldn’t be much to talk about in the off season. Hope it’s not all my karmic fault!
