      Same

Is manually limiting your charging to 80% necessary anymore? I’ve heard people say that modern phones / chargers are pretty good with handling that for you.

I’m looking forward to removable batteries again though. Being able to swap the battery when it degrades will be nice.

They are. My phone gets all night to charge to 80% and will only go beyond that if I tell it to in advance.

Same, except I rarely charge when I sleep. I just don’t have an outlet handy next to my bed. With the fancy Samsung turbo charger I get a decent charge in barely any time at all.

Overnight. I find that “fast charging” as a feature is just a crutch for not having enough battery life to last a day. Why would I ever want to carry a bulky charger around all day instead of just having a phone that’s 1mm thicker?

oh right it’s to make us buy more accessories

Thanks to overnight slow charging, swappable batteries, and a magnetic charge coupler, my S5 from 2014 still works great. I use it in the shower for tunes, and drag it to appointments to use the IR blaster to turn off fox news in waiting rooms.

So, in a way, it’s also to make us buy more phones.

Handily my phone can use the same chargers that we use for laptops on our house, and as the charge is fast, and battery capacity good, I don’t bother charging it at night unless it’s low. Before this phone I’d charge every night. Some sort of progress.

During my morning routine. It takes less than 1 hr from 0-100% so 30-45 minutes is enough.

Would be coom if Android offered a standard for calculating the charging power to reach 100% just before the alarm clock.

Sony does this (and the iPhone), but yeah should be a standard feature.

Whenever it’s getting to about 30%. I also use slow charging, and since most of the time I am near a charger, it’s never a problem. I often wake up with my phone at 35%, I plug it in before going and most of the time when I go I am at 70%.

I have a wireless charging stand at my desk, where it sits to charger while I work. On days off, I throw it on a quick charger for a short time, usually while I’m cooking

About every second night. I normally use 20-40% per day so sometimes I charge every third night.

If commuting, I take public transport so charge on last bit of journey before (or after work) if needed or a heavy phone day.

At home/weekends - whenever it drops and I have time.

My phone usually stands on the wireless charger as it’s next to my PC. I charge it before going somewhere, because the phone is 6 years old and its battery could be better.

Mini is whenever. I have fast chargers all over the house, in both cars, at the office, and a power bank too.

I charge my phone to 65%, and I start charging whenever it takes at least 30 minutes to charge, infrequently less if I want to make sure I have the most juice in the phone.
