I don’t think this news will come as a shock to anyone since The Bear is one of the best TV shows to come out in years but I’m happy to hear it’s been renewed all the same.

I was there for the top notch acting, fascinating characters, gorgeous cinematography, and delicious looking food.

There’s an incredibly frantic episode that takes place in one take. It’s a masterpiece and I breathed a sigh of relief when it ended.
I liken it to watching horror movies. Some people appreciate feeling different emotions during their escapism.

Holy crap, I just watched that and didn’t even notice it was one take! No wonder I was panicked after! I’ve got to watch it again!

I love that we haven’t said anything about the episode besides that it was frantic and we know exactly which episode it was.
The writing is brilliant. The acting is pretty damned good as well

There’s a lot of that in season 1. It’s a fairly accurate portrayal of small restaurant culture.

Season 2 is calmer, more focused on the beauty of hospitality. The food, the space, the process of creating recipes and preparing the food in the kitchen.

Every single episode of season 2 was “look at how we are able to create beauty and joy amidst the chaos”. How attention to detail and deeply caring about the product can create an experience for the guest.

Yeah, I get where you’re coming from. I am a fan of the series but I can’t explain why I enjoy watching shows or movies that make me feel anxious and stressed out. I guess it feels more “real” watching flawed characters make flawed decisions?

    The Beef

    The Bear

    The Star

I’m only an amateur writer but I think a 3rd season should be the final season. It would allow an incredible 3 act event. The first being The Beef. Carmie returning home to save a restaurant. The Bear being this new incredible restaurant and the trials of opening one up. The Star being the 3rd and final act. We know Carmie never got his own star, only maintained them. Sydney always dreamed of getting the Michelin Star and we know they will do what it takes to get there (multiple conversations were had about it). The rest of the staff have seemingly improved their personal lives since Carmie came along and he’s become a leader by showing absolute respect to those beneath him. This respect will be given right back 10 fold as they push for the goal.

The 3rd season should be about their attempt to push everything they have learned and accomplished into achieving the dream.

As far as I’m concerned, anything other than their push for a star will not make for a good 3rd season and I’d consider fluff. The first two seasons showed so much passion for the subject.

My favorite fact from the production of this show is that all the actors are doing the cooking. Even the knife work.

    Can’t wait for season 3

This is a really good show, hope they can keep up the standard. Not sure where they can go with the non current storyline but I am definitely very interested.
